Golf Operations Manager
To be responsible and accountable for all facets of opertions management in terms of sales, efficiency, profitability and the delivery of high standards of service
Main Duties
To Promote, develop and manage all society and corporate golf day business ensuring maximum customer satisfaction and retention.
To promote and develop casual green fee income to achieve increased course usage and income per round.
In conjunction with the membership sales team, ensure all prospective members receive all relevant information and introductions to club activities
To work with the club professional to promote junior coaching, new member clinics and pro-coaching for corporate golf days.
To support the shop staff in ensuring that a high standard of dress and etiquette on the course is maintained by members and visitors.
To manage the shop on a day to day basis to ensure budgeted sales and margins are achieved.
To negotiate with suppliers, ensuring that an appropriate level of stock is maintained, reflecting seasonal demands whilst negotiating best prices with suppliers.
To minimse stock losses and to be accountable for any stock losses.
Identify and discuss with senior management any key business objectives and opportunities that may exist and to implement strategies to exploit them.
Attend monthly golf club committee meetings.
Liaise with the golf course manager regarding set up and presentation of the course and to provide feedback from members and green fee payers.
Assist in establishing and managing financial targets and budgets for all shop activities.
Duty management role within the complex.
Create and make use of a "live" and up to date database for all past and present customers and to research all potential sales leads.
Direct, supervise and develop all shop personnel in line with company standards and procedures.
Be innovative in identifying sales and marketing strategies that will maximise sales, profitability and public awareness.
Efficiently manage and operate the golf operations in a cost effective manner.
To be computer literate with the ability to manage an established tee time reservation and billing system.
The successful applicant is required to be a proficient golfer preferably with a low handicap who is capable of providing advice and guidance in all aspects of play, the rules of golf and retail knowledge for which we will provide a competitive salary plus an attractive bonus based on achieving a number of key performance targets.
